    Remington 700 - Unsafe Triggers

    http://www.nbcnews.com/business/busi...ar-gun-n262721

According to this NBC News report, Remington are going to replace millions of trigger mechanisms. This is the first I have heard about it.
Anybody on SD know anything about it?

No offence but you must be the last person to hear about it! It is all over the forums, it has immediately de-valued 1000s of rifles which is why you can pick up secondhand remmy's cheap as chips now!

Definitely not offended by your reply old chap.
I don't dabble in many forums and only joined SD very recently. Spend all my time out in the field or looking after my Memsahib.
I was advised to check my rifle on a website set up by Remington and enter my serial number. I did this and it said I was in the clear.
I have now been advised that that website was set up for an earlier issue and is not connected to the news item I quoted above and that the company has not made any announcements about the latest issue.
    It is all very confusing.

Quick, Quick, tell me where, I don't need another rifle but if they are that cheap I'll have another .243 and another .308.
