    Good looking!
    What steel?
Is that a stabilized burl or just natural, and you applied your finish?

Doing small numbers of knives, how do you go about getting them tempered? I used to have to do a few and them run mine along with another maker who was running a bunch of the same steel, and then later started doing them one at a time myself.

Hi Southern, the steel is cut from a large circular saw blade. I then heat it in the forge till it is uniform bright cherry red and allow to cool. Once bevels and shaping is finished I then polish the blade to get rid of scratches starting with 240 grit,400,800,1000 or 1200, 1500 ending up with 2000. I then go back to the forge heat till bright cherry red and quench in warm olive oil, i may do this up to 3 times to get the hardness. I then clean it up and temper it in a convection oven at 200% for 2 hours.
The burl is not stablised but has at least 4 applications of Danish oil and then 5 or 6 applications of Carnuba wax lots of polishing between .
    Thanks for your interest, Tusker
