Was up at my old pal's who is also a butcher tonight and he gave me a leaflet he got from Scobie & junior whilst up buying a bucket of sausage seasoning. They have changed their normal brand Rose Red I think it was called to NatuRed. It's apparently a replacement for carmine. It's a natural colour made from perennial herbs, wild vegetables and common fruits. It's ment to remove carmine also known as cochineal E 120 . So I will find out at the weekend when I get my sausages to see what difference it has made if any and it's a bit dearer to buy.
