Thread: scope problem

    scope problem

    Seen a nice linsenfield scope the day in a local gun shop, not to bad condition, couple of scrapes on it but lenses r clear with no scraches but appears to be cloudy for sum reason. Any ideas what could. Be causing this, cheers

    Perhaps the seals are leaking and moisture has been getting in the scope.

    they were top scopes way back but as above prob seals have failed with age

    If the scope was nitrogen-purged and the seals leaked then outside air is likely to have been sucked in as the pressure equalised. If so, there's little that can be done short of sending it off and getting it repaired.

    If it's the glass element that are separating, or the lens coatings starting to degrade, steer well clear.....
