hi ,

im looking for a starting load for my 6.5x55 for the above combination any ine got any bright ideas ?

cheers lee

Try 42 grains loaded to suggested OAL and then work up a couple of grains to 44 - 45 grain area. Should shoot, according to my buddy. He says that RL22 is a real winner in the 6.5x55.~Muir

Hey Lee,

Chuck Hawks says:
The Speer 140 grain spitzer (BC .496) can be driven to a MV of 2449 fps by 44.0 grains of RL22 powder, and 2671 fps by 48.0 grains of RL22.

Or from alliant - http://www.alliantpowder.com/reload...&weight=140&shellid=106&bulletid=116&bdid=379

Hmm looking at these it's kinda clear there is A LOT of data on the internet. But I guess I'll still get a book...

yep still get a book , you wont regret it and it will tell you all the fiddley bits i didnt show you mate !

muir ,

thanks what you dont know about reloading aint woth knowing in my opinion !

cheers lee

Lee,

you will, IMHO be better off with H4350.

Please don't be saying things like that to Muir (even if you are right), he will be unbearable:D I shall never hear the last of it.

John
