Thread: which would you sell...

    which would you sell...

A slight reversal of the usual 'one rifle' threads...

Let's say you had to sell one of the following. Which would it be:

    Sako 75 in .222.

    Sako 75 in .243.

    Sako Finnbear in .270.

    Heym SR21 in .308.

I think I know which one it has to be, but help me over the precipice...

Personally I'd kick out the .222 if you had to mind you you could also kick out the .270 as the .243 and the .308 are more than capable of covering the other 2 . Then go and get something exotic ... just because you can....

I'd keep the .222 for fox control in noise sensitive areas
.243 for all around use for 90% off the time
    .308 for anything bigger

is the heym a change barrel if so get a few barrels I.e .222 and .243 and sell all the rest hehe

    so I'd sell the .270

    just my 2p worth

.243 i reckon seems to be a pretty pointless calibre in that collection, although you could argue the case of getting ride of the 222 and using 243 as a heavier varmint. 270 for general deer stalking 308 for the heavier bullet requirements...
Stealthy, like a giraffe on roller-skates....

With that selection I'd get rid of the .243 too. As you're in Scotland the .222 is good for roe and everything smaller making the .243 not necessary.

Personally I would shift the 270 but that's purely because I don't like the calibre. Nothing wrong with it and they take a lot of deer throughout the country but not for me so that would be my choice.

I would be loading the .243 with 70 grain for Fox to Roe, the .270 with 130 grain for Sika and Red on the hill and the .308 with a short barrel and 165 Grain for Sika and Red in the woods and Boar.

    Loose the .222
So much to learn and so little time left

Anyone advocating getting rid of the 222 needs clubbed with the thick end of one.

I'd get rid of both the 270 and the 308 and get a 30/06... Another Sako 75?

Ask me tomorrow and you may get a different answer.
    Brian.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get you......
