    Home loads

Just had a call from a shooting mate in selby north Yorkshire,

His question to me was this

He has about 35 preloaded 22/250 rounds loaded for his 24" barrelled rifle,

Yesterday he collected his newly chopped truck 22/250 up on his way down here to shoot at his brothers and the only ammo he has with him is his preloaded rounds when the rifle barrel was a lot longer,

(sorry I forgot to mention its the same rifle just a shorter barrel)

He asked, will I be ok to use them, I said yes,

Your thoughts on weather they will show any adverse signs

    Cheers

Of course it will be alright to shoot although it might not be as accurate as when the barrel was 24" as the harmonics have changed, also it could possibly have lost a couple of hundred fps velocity so re-zoreing and new drops will have to be calculated.

Slightly different but I had my .223 rem 700 shortened
And screwcut and when fitted with mod the ammo I had
Always used was useless. I worried it had been done incorrectly
But tried a different load and it was spot on. Just shows how
    Harmonics can change things drastically.
