    Off to Thailand....

A mate has a small business running in Thailand and is need of an up grade for his cosmetic mixing machines....

We looked at what was available, and what is available has lots of zero's in there price list!!

So what do you do......make them!!

I am a great believer in using off the shelf to save time, stock 316 stainless blank flanges, 316 stock 16mm bar....Ally billet from a local firm who make wheel centres, a bit of 316 70mm pipe to make the cage, a lump of 75 mm 316 off cut to make the mixing head...

Some head scratching....Oh and a good look at the main manufactures video...

The motor is from a local firm who have been producing motors for 60 + years...with an ABB controller to make it wiz round...

The motors bolt to a frame so the mixing head can be lowered into the mixing containers...

My 75 year old belt drive lathe was on her limit with the bearing tolerances!!

Anyway they work fine...quite glad it is him going through customs rather than me...

Looking at that clean finish, you could start getting enquiries for nuclear application , & harking back to that supergun thing a few years ago, I wish your mate good luck!.

It was made in the USA....more suited to large work, however I have a small chuck when it is needed.
