    Any vehicle mechanics on board

I have managed to change my badly worn seat belson the front of my vitara, but after fitting the new belt I can not get the thing to unwind ie fit the belt,

I tried it with the ignition on and off as there is a small 2 pin cable that connects the belt motor to the cars cable network ?

    Any ideas

    Cheers

    Bob

Difficult to say without knowing what you did
the pretensioner ( the wires) needs to have the battery unplugged when fitting normally

sounds like the Reel ratchet is stuck, it's a ball bearing affair internally

not 100% on your vehicle mate but most seat belts have internal sensors hence the term inertia reel seatbelt if you have fitted it out of alignment it will not unwind correctly so first thing to check is that it is fitted into the locating holes correctly ..

but unfortunately there is also the problem that can occur when removing if it is a second hand one you have fitted .
if you allow the belt to whizz back into the holder the spring can jump and jam the belt
