Thread: Lucky Photo

    Lucky Photo

After deleting literally hundreds of waving leaves and grey squirrels and skipping through dogs and their owners, closeups of small boys nostrils, cats, foxes, pheasants, badgers and even some deer I think this one made the effort worthwhile. If only I'd set the date right.

Thanks. I've put him in the gallery as well because I've finally worked out that you don't have to be logged in to view gallery photos. It was worth spending an hour editing the upload from the camera. Lidl cam now in its third year.
Here's one of his uncles who got away last year.

That would make a really good recognition test photo!
A roe coloured fallow with muntjac style antlers? Or is it a Sika or a Red?
I suspect the posters's location may give it away.

I think the low morning sun is exaggerating his colouration a bit. His spikes are fairly typical of a yearling, although they have been known to put up spikes in their first year.
The low ground sika have been breeding back to as true as you can get considering their mixed ancestry. We are getting very good body weights but the heads don't seem to improve at the same rate. At the time of writing the summer coats are only just coming through. I watched a hind the other evening who looked as if she was about to give birth to a litter.
