    140gr speers

    After some info, anyone used or using the 140gr speer soft points bullets in 6,5? on roe ,,cheers doug,

    I had them reloaded in my 6.5x55 and I was getting 4" groups at 100yds so got them pulled and moved to SSTs... My rifle hated them with a passion!

    Always worth a try Doug. Just because they were pants through my rifle doesn't mean they'll be pants through yours.

    I know im getting them anyway he who dares wins rodney and all that,to be very truthful ive no need its just that i want to try some homeloads im like a kid with two birthday cakes!,

    I always used the Speer 140 spitzer bullet punched out with 48 grains Vit N165, which on paper would appear a low performer, however in the field could shoot clover leaf groups and would drop, Muntjak, Roe and Fallow on the spot while woodland stalking and at fair enough none were long range shots. If I wanted a faster round it was 120 speer or sierra and Vit N160. This was out of my Tikka T3 with 22inch barrel.
    I have just put in for my certificate renewal and I have applied for another 6.5 having sold my Tikka some time ago and guess what bullet and powder combinations I am going to use.
