    Cape Grysbuck and Vaal Rhebuck

Has anyone ever hunted either of these two? I see them listed on the websites of many outfitters, but never see pictures on here of them.

I assume the higher costs deter people? Or are they just hard species to hunt?

Hard to hunt. You tend to come across them when after something else but they spook easily.

I have shot Val Reebok but not Grysbok.

Val Reebok are expensive due to the limited distribution of the animal, it is also I assume a species that is not easy to breed or is impossible to breed in captivity and specialises in particular habitat that is only found in the Cape area.
They are very easily spooked, or at least the area I hunted they were and can be challenging. I took mine in the Cape area a few years back now not far from Stellenbosch.

    Hi Guy

I'm very well thank you. It's good to see you on here. That's a nice animal pictured.

I hunted both species and the hardest part is finding guides/outfitters who are prepared to take you out for harder to get species. In between Christmas and New Year last year I took both Klipspringer and Cape Grysbok, I had taken Vaal Reedbuck previously.

I would suggest having a chat with Joe da Silva, he is good company and is based not far from Cape Town. He also has access to excellent pigeon shooting...
