ROLE*

The post holder is responsible to the Range Supervisor, for the routine management of the DCBRNC Training Area. The main duties of the post include:*

1. In the absence of the Range Supervisor, you are to:
a. Act as control station for the Training Area radio safety network, give safety briefs and issue radios to the exercising controllers.*

b. Maintain the Training Area safety vehicle in a state of readiness for emergencies on the area, contents to include radio, stretcher and first aid kits and act as POC for ambulance crews if required.*

c. Ensure that all personnel using the Training Area read, sign and uphold the Range Orders and HSAW policy documents, reporting any breaches by personnel using the Training Area to the Quartermaster.*

2. The management of the Training Area so as to best support Defence training requirements and good nature conservation, in accordance with JSP 362 Defence Lands Handbook.*

3. The effective management, maintenance and accounting of Training Area infrastructure to include buildings, fixtures and fittings, associated vehicles and land management tools and other items held on the range AF G1198.*

4. The provision and recovery of Training Area training facilities and equipment requested for use by the Defence CBRN School and authorised visiting Units and outside agencies.*

5. The correct management, storage, maintenance, control, issuing, receipt and accounting of Training Area equipment and stores, including CBRN exercise equipment, hazardous chemicals and ammunition.*

6. Assisting the Range Supervisor with the effective and diplomatic liaison with all local tenant farmers, Contractors operating on the Training Area and any other external bodies with Centre or statutory authorised access to the Training Area.*

7. Management of the perimeter gates to enable civilian access to the perimeter track outside of the Centre working hours.*
