The Rem 700 is the Ruger 10/22 of the centrefire world.
The list of mods is substantial to the extreme. Your best bet would be to google it and have a look at what's out there.
You can go new trigger, bolt, get it blueprinted, sako extractor, AI/AR15 mag with new bottom metal, various scope bases and hundreds of stocks available!

If you want one, buy it and then if you feel it needs improving you'll have a better idea of where to start.
Any Questions Feel Free to PM me

Stock, bedding and trigger, then the rem 700 is as good or better than any other rifle.
First thing I'd change on a Sako or any other factory rifle would be the stock.
No rifle is perfect out of the box.

I have bog standard 700 Rem in 22-250 heavy barrel, no after market mods no bedding no new stock, the only thing was screw cutting the barrel, it would put the know it all experts to shame.
It bugholes @200m and first shot from barrel goes where I aim - took it out last Friday and bunny at 440 yards was toast - 1st shot from cold barrel.

For mine I replaced the stock with a Boyds thumbhole, had it bedded and also bought a Jewell Trigger, it will shoot sub MOA if I do my bit and is very comfortable to use. I don't feel the need to customise further, although if you did want to the list is endless...
