    As titled. How many deer species are 'native' to Scotland?

    Does the discovery Fallow deer fossils, in Suffolk, have an impact on any part of your response?

    native is our current context relates to post glaciation species so fossils from extinct species before the last ice ice i.e. Dama Roberti simply aren't applicable

    One Dr NS, Nottingham University is working on fallow archeology at the present time.Look forward to her paper being published in the future

    I had heard of several people doing work in this field but not anyone matching that descriptor. Have you any notion of when this paper might appear?

    I live in Suffolk and was unaware , but it doesn't change my response.

    I agree although I think that you may just about call the Reindeer reintroduced natives if they were allowed to roam free.

    tough one but the rothiemurchus rudolfs are free living in fairness and like the wild boar were foreign domesticated stock let loose after the 'native' populations were hunted to extinction. I don't see anyone standing up for the likes of wild boar as a returned current native species so describing them as a reintroduced 'former native' species might fit but the truly native ones were wiped out.
