    Fracking a step closer

Big boost to UK fracking with Cuadrilla backing http://www.ft.com/fastft/345071/yes-...-fracking-plan

Planners say Yes but will Councillors do the same?

people don't understand the facts about fracking and someone must be always 'cashing in' so green eyed monsters come out from every corner there with be bias and anti-progress idiots that will sensationalise this issue.

The fracturing ( not "fracking") process was patented in the USA in 1949, was in use for 21 years before the Environmental Protection Agency was created, and was studied by the EPA as one of their first major projects. It was found to have zero detrimental effects on the environment in several studies of oil and gas fields with a 20-year history.

Working for the worlds largest fracturing service provider, and living on the very land where some of the wells we frac are - I'm happy to drink the water, that should tell you something.

I am not against it...but don't just blanket opinion that because it was ok in site X that any issues at site Y must be made up!

the list of crap pumped down and the traces in the ground water of those poorly chosen sites is well documented
that said deep water horizon happened but we didn't just stop drilling did we?!

Continued rape of earth's resources with disregard for anything but profit.

    And the alternatives are ???

The use of sunlight and nano-particles to make natural gas from waste water? the point is we continue to look at profit before any other consideration & without a care as to the environmental impact or the cumulative problems that arise from our actions, you only have to look at this industries track record to see what damage it has caused on our planets flora and fauna.

The cleanest places on this planet are those with almost no human population, or the industrialized societies under market capitalism, because they can afford to keep things clean. The filthiest are those areas populated by primitive populations enabled to breed thanks to Western medicine and food shipments, and the socialist states which can't figure out how to make two shoes that match, can't afford to do any more than dump industrial chemicals into the earth and water, and don't care.
