    Racing bikes

My Mother in Law has asked me to sell her late husbands bikes.
He bought these new and they've seen little use as he was ill for the past ten years.
first off is a Raleigh Scirroco which has a Reynolds 501 lightweight frame.
250 seems to be the going price for these.
second is what I would call a sprint bike it is fixed wheel again with a lightweight frame.
I honestly don't know what this is worth.
Any interest or advice on where to advertise these would be most helpfull PM me with any questions.
    Cheers Steve.

What size of frame are they? or how tall was the chap riding them?

    Hi 375 win.
I will measure them tomorrow. I'm not a cycle fan so excuse me for being ignorant !!!!!!
do you want a measurement from where the seat pillar goes in to where it meets the crank ?????
If it helps I've ridden them today and I'm a 28 inside leg (5'8" tall) I dropped the seat on the Raleigh about 1" but about 3" on the blue bike which, by the way is a Leach Marathon.
    Cheers Steve.

    He was 5'10".
please ask if you need more info.

I have checked the frame out on the sprint bike and it's a "Leach Marathon" these were hand made. Apparently a frame went on Evil bay for 330.I don't really want to mess about with this route so Open to sensible offers on either bike.

That chainring on the Leach is a thing of beauty

Is the hub on the rear wheel a freehub or fixed, i.e. can you freewheel or do your legs have to go round all the time like on a "proper" sprint bike?! From the fact the bike has mudguards and brakes fitted I would guess it's a freewheel, so more of a fixed gear bike than a true sprinter.

If only the frame was larger I'd be seriously tempted

Definitely fixed with just a front brake. Father in Law put the mudguards on at a later date and rode it on the road.
Although I married his daughter 40 years ago I was never allowed to ride his bikes. I have since ridden this and how the hell he could ride it on the road I will never know.
