    Scope

Hi, I am wondering what scope I should consider buying, my budgets is 1000-1500 and I do a lot of fox control so need it to be good under a light but also some stalking so last light needs to be good as well, I have heard sightron top end scopes are good but not seen one to look at, I would like it to be a 56 objective lense and a 30mm tube and also have side parralax if possible to use with my nv add on, do you guys have any recommendations?

    Kind regards kane

Is there a time and place for spontaneity?

I have had a sightron and I think they work well with NV add ons so I have been told
and there very Good glass , not as good as a nightforce or S&B IMO
personaly I would go for a nightforce but not shure how compatible they are
    with your NV add on

I am just curious about how far you expect to shoot a fox at night?
A lamp will not reach very far, maybe 100 yards.
56mm will not buy you much in brightness at any power above 8x, so why not just get a good second-hand 8x56?

If you want to shoot at long range, you need a fine reticle, which may not work so well for you at night. So you might need an illuminated dot scope, like a Leupold VXR.

Rather than trying to get one scope to do it all, why not look at really sharp scope with a sharp and fine reticle, like a Vortex Viper 2.5-10x42 for all around hunting, and or maybe something like a Leupold 3.5-10x50, with an illuminated dot?

    I use a Kahles 3-12x56 4a with a 30mm tube.

Shot a lot of fox's under a lamp with it...however the key is practice/stable shooting platform, with good field craft....
A good quality scope is helpful for the confidence in my opinion!

Mine is set for 200 yards with covers a lot of ground beyond and closer in...

Stalking is very much like going to the night club

You can always tell an Essex Boy, just you cant tell him much...

An hour in the field is worth a week of typing trash.....
