    RCBS chargemaster combo question

Hi all, my chargemaster turned up today and has a 2 pin plug.
Is it ok to use with a shaver adaptor plug ?
Or do I need a different lead for it.
    Any answers appreciated.
    Dale.

I've been using mine with an adaptor since I bought it 5 or 6 years back with no problem.

Thank you farmer7. I tried it in an adaptor without plugging into the mains
and seemed loose fitting, didn't fancy damaging the unit hence the question.

Depends where you bought it from... If it was the USA then the adapter it came with will probably be a 110v version and the chargemaster will start behaving eratically if at all.. if it is a US one, you need to get yourself to Maplin and buy a 230v adapter with the correct size connector. Check the output f the one it came with and make sure it can supply enough juice.. if memory servews it is 500mA, the one I got from Maplin was 1A and works perfectly. You need to feed it with 12v, so make sure the adapter you get is the correct one.

If it came from europe then it will already be a 230v adapter in which case, use an adapter

Thanks vipa. Yes brought from the UK and is 230v.
Just tried it out with with an adaptor and works fine.
Just wanted to double check with you chaps so I didn't
    mess it up.
    Much appreciated.

The first one I used played up something terrible and had me freed the as supplied step-down transformer with a 'clean' 230v supply. When that didn't cure it I bought a high quality variable low voltage unit.

All for nothing or very little at best as in the end I took a hammer to it upon the instruction of RCBS who sent a new one FOC once they had seen a picture of the trashed unit.

The new one works just fine but I've moved on and only use it as an expensive powder dumper for final hand trickling into a 000000 decimal point scale. Madness of course but such is the lot of the COD handloader.
