I have the very similar Altberg Velthogs. Very pleased with them. I also have Hanwag Alaskas which are good too.

Highly recommend these boots, waterproof and comfortable and the factory will re-sole them for £30 when the time comes! Did have a slight issue with the sole on mine but they paid postage for them to be retured and were fixed and sent back within the week. So excellent customer service too and haven't had a problem since! Think they supply MOD boots too.

Lots of threads on here about boots. Spend a happy hour searching. Usual suspects are sworn by or sworn at.

Meindl Dovre Extreme do well by most accounts. I have had a pair for 18 months so they have done one beating season and so far have been fine.

Previously I had a pair of Le Chameau Mouflon Plus which are generally sneered at. My pair were the most comfortable boot I have ever worn, they lasted 7 seasons beating two or three days a week. Now pensioned off for summer gardening use only.

The all out best deal seems to be the Extreme cold weather goretex ex army boots which have a Vibram sole and seem good leather and are brand new at only £60 a quarter the price of the big names. I bought a pair this summer to alternate with the Meindls and am just breaking them in, they seem fine.

There are lots of good boots out there and a lot of the boots marketed at the stalking world don't, in my view, give quite the same support as boots aimed at walkers or mountaineers.

I have Douvre Extremes and they are fine boots but not as supportive as some Scarpa (and other) walking boots that I own.

Also worth considering is the British Army "High Liability" boots. They are made by two suppliers so you can get them either from Altberg or Haix and they usually sell for around £50 as surplus items. I've been using a pair of the Haix ones and they are as good a boot as my Douvre Extremes I would say. The altberg ones seem pretty hard to find at the minute as I think there was considerable demand for them when people realised you could have a, pretty much, new pair of Altberg boots for £50 however there are still some of the Haix ones about. I ordered "grade 1" from these folks and when they arrived they were brand new and had never been worn:

Thanks lads,I'm now more confused that this time yesterday, I would like to buy boots from a company that specialise in making boots,no a company that just stick their badge on boots , have any of the worn hanwag tatras, they look a cracking boot and come in a wide version as well ,that may suite me better that regular , thanks for the replays thus far .
