Thread: 8x50 scope?

    8x50 scope?

Do any of the better scope manufacturers do a fixed focus 8X50, or even 8X40?

    I had a Swaro 8 x 50. Great scope but their 8 x 56 is better.
Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it, hump it or learn from it then piss on it and walk away.

Can't go to 8X56 - rifle in question has old iron sights still in place, and fouls a X56 scope.

I had two of these for about ten years. Traded them in for what I paid for them when I started reloading. Regards JCS

I have a Kahles CB 8x50L, which is fixed power and illuminated. I have owned it for several years and it is currently on my .22Hornet.
The optics are as good as anything one can buy. I paid something in the region of 630 new, if I remember correctly.

Mungo - have a play with my swaro habicht 4-12x50. In the real world you will find not a lot of difference between 6 and 8 x mag. Indeed you have a very good 6x42 on that Sako and it works.

since I moved to that scope I keep it pretty much on 4 or 6 all the time. I don't think I have taken a shot at anything above that and even on the range I only use 12 to check bullet holes if I can't see them at 6.
