    Lowther Show 2015

If you were under the impression that the Lowther Show is going to be like a game fair with lots of useful shooting or fishing stands, be warned, it's NOT at all.

Complete waste of 36 and a long drive for the two of us. The usual tat clothing stalls with very little else of interest. More like a local agricultural show.

Probably a nice day out for the kids instead of playing on the x-box though...

    Rant over.

I've not been for years now due to your experience. What redmist arranged on here is much better.

It's a shame due to the location it has the potential to be excellent

I had a great day out, nice small country sports show. One of the best, but it is not explicitly a game fair, nor does it I think describe itself as such. It is as much if not more for the horse and hound fraternity.

Have to agree with Si on this - this was our 4th year exhibiting there and immeadiately realized that the layout/company presence/punters had changed from last year.

Actual foot-fall seemed alot higher but most were folk who had very little interest in field sports.

Thanks to all who called in for a chat with us - don't think we will be exibiting there next year - sad decision, as weeman states it has got the potential to be a really good fair.

Lowther was originally centred on the carriage driving trials, with the Hound show as the significant secondary attraction. What we have now is loosely based on the standard 'game fair' model, with the Hound show reinstated, over the two days.
