Can I ask where you got the bullets from Alan, because Winchester told me that they were not interested in the reloading market in the U.K. at present because they could barely manufacture enough bullets to supply demand for their own use in their loading plants.
It's the calibre of the shooter that counts not the calibre of the rifle.

Worth a call to reloading solutions, I bought 300 silvertips for my 25-06 from there a couple of weeks ago (and a similar number a couple of months ago for my 308)

    Try these:

I've used the Combined Technology 87 grain offering in my K250 and that produces keyhole groups of no less pleasing nature than Berger and V-Max.

I will give them a try. It was 8mm and 9.3mm that I was actually looking for as I thought Winchester might be quite reasonable price wise remembering how we used to buy Winchester bullets in bulk many years ago from Howitzer in Abingdon.

That's interesting, didn't know you could get them as such! What brand are they?

Hi Alan. Used these in .243 for years and found them very accurate and no runners from the deer I've shot with them. Damage not too excessive either. The 55g are a better weight for foxing with lots of damage. These have been hard to get hold of for quite some time, but there are some supplies available lately.

I made the same mistake also, but there again Alan did say bullets and not ammunition.

My only experience of Winchester silvertip ammunition was with .308w and long ago. Accuracy wasn't brilliant in my rifle but that was only my rifle could be different in others. I shot a few roe with them can't remember any problems so they probably did the job. The ammo and bullets have probably changed considerably since then.
