Who won WW2, against the Germans that is.

Since we got so far off topic on the immigrant thing, I thought why not go a little farther. My soon to be ex wife is from Europe and she has a unique idea about who the main player was in winning against the Germans. In fact, it may be one of the few things she has been right about in the last 20 years. Since you all are the only foreign people that I communicate with, I thought I'd get your thoughts. Off to lunch now, eagerly awaiting your replies. Back in an hour.

Permit me to revisit that on a cold and foggy Sunday in November please.

    Easy answer....it was Great Britain.

GB would be the obvious choice, and the most popular one on here I suspect. Other major players who spring to mind would be Russia and the US. Personally I don't think Russia gets the credit it deserves in these little discussions. Certainly I suspect that the war would have lasted at least a few more years, and/or necessitated a nuclear detonation on European soil if Germany didn't try to invade Russia.

Huh, Shakey Jake beat me to it.

From your wording I get the idea the theory may have something to do with raw materials or some such, that most people don't associate with warfare.

Another symptom of vast over-expansion of German governance was thin distribution of personnel.
