    Cracking photos, what camera did you use and how long was the exposure? I used to take a few photos many a year ago, mostly family reunions etc and a good few whilst travelling round the highlands and lost over 6000 odd when a computer had a wee 260lb problem land on it and stupid me i had not backed up all of the pics, needless to say i was sick as a dog but am looking at a few cameras at the moment and being a nosey bazaar i usually ask what others are using.

    Hi tumbleweed, I used a Canon 5D MK3 with a 16-35mm lens. The first exposure was 266 seconds at f/18, the second was 181 seconds at f/18.
    That's not good news losing that many images, I bet you were gutted!!

    I need to read up on how you take these style pics & what's needed equipment wise.

    I used a tripod, cable release and a 10stop ND filter too.

    Timelapse photography is something I really want to get into.
