Definately losing ground here.

Start the fight-back: coin some new, technical sounding words for common shooting objects, and utter them with an air of superiority and confidence. Glare condescendingly at those who express confusion about what you mean.

For instance:

Brass = propellant tubes ("two boxes of .308 propellant tubes, my good man").
Stock = ballistic platform ("yes - I like the ballistic platforms on those new Sauers").
Barrel = launching tube ("yes - my old launching tube was in contact with the ballistic platform, so I had to change it").
Stalker = deer manager.
 
Ha ha its a common thing to say. Cut them some slack though, Pat has lost two experienced people recently so has a few trainees to bring up to speed - they will learn.........
