Thread: Objective diameter??

    Objective diameter??

I'm currently trying to decide on a new scope for a rifle which will be arriving soon....

    The scopes I'm considering are either a swarovski Z3 4-12 x 50 or a Z5 3.5-18 x 44.

My current and previous stalking scopes have all been 50mm objective, so am a little worried that I might be sacrificing performance if I go for the 44mm Z5.

Will I notice much difference in twilight??

I use a Z6I 44mm and I have never felt lacking in the optics department or out foxing

there's a guy on here selling a Z6I 2.5x14x44 which is perfect for what u want

I think the Z6i has sold. Also I'm thinking of getting my scope from uttings, as I can get it on 0% finance over a year (only way possible for me to afford it, lol)

No discernible difference. The Z5 is an unsung hero of a scope. Just pick the reticle carefully as they are quite fine.

Thanks for that! I like a fine reticle, I think it comes with a 4a reticle. My other stalking rifle has a zeiss duralyt on it which is quite fine......

    I have a Z6 2.5-15x56 a4, the hairs are finer than my 3-12x56 a4 Kahles.
The side parallax was distracting me until I learnt to find the middle ground with it...

Stalking is very much like going to the night club

You can always tell an Essex Boy, just you cant tell him much...

An hour in the field is worth a week of typing trash.....

I can vouch for the Z4i - I have the 2.5-10 X 56 with the L4a 300 illuminated reticule - it is an awful lot of scope for the money. Pretty sure they do a 3-12 X 50 with the same reticule
For Gods sake - don't tell her how much I've spent

I think you can order them (tailored to you) for any of the Swaro's as an add-on - PBC - Personalised Ballistic Cam - it's around an extra 90
