View attachment 61813View attachment 61814 The sea run is on the left, my 8 year olds first cutthroat on right. Caught the sea run in the riffles in the background. Missed a few others.
Well done that chap,do the sea run fight much harder that the non sea run ,we get a healthy run of sea run brown trout on my local river here in Ireland,we call them seatrout/whitetrout ,what fly were they taken on ?

The sea runs do seem to fight harder, the wild trout fight much harder than any of the stocked fish. They were taken on a Black Ghoast streamer. Only problem is that a 14" fish is a big one. Still much fun catching them, especially for the kiddos. I'll bet those Browns get much bigger than that!
As long as the kids enjoy catching them, the size is irrelevant .
The river I fish mostly has sea trout up to about 2lbs (and spring Atlantic Salmon to above 20lbs),but a lake I fish, Lough Curranne ,has them to above 10lbs ,its the closest thing to Tierra del Fiago this side of the Atlantic
