The Mirror has a poll on its website about banning driven pheasant shooting. Please cast your vote. I don't know how to post a link - sorry.

Voted - 69% No - guns, deadly, death, toff's, supping champange, blah, blah, blah, blah....

It's just the Mirror using route one reporting to suggest the few with wealth, influence and tweed get off on this kind of thing - this is social class reporting veiled in animal rights - it will appeal to those who sit in their living rooms and post about it whilst completely de-sensitised to the rest of the carnage suffered second by second daily by humanity around the world.

Lest we forget, this is one of the papers of the Trinity Group entwined in the phone-hacking saga - the paper that uses out of context pictures to sell copy (child hunger in the uk) etc etc etc

No doubt the Mirror will be looking for a story along the lines of "Poll shows 90% in favour of banning driven shooting" followed by a campaign to get the government to introduce legislation to show how the Mirror is cutting edge.

But a lack of research, not only into how shooting is run but into the thoughts of the nation, whose opinions are not actually anti-shooting in general show otherwise. Yet another case of a very vocal minority persuading the Mirror they have their pulse on the issue. D'oh!

Wasn't it the Daily Fail who also do one of these recently. That went the same way this one is going and, strangely, was not heard of again.
