    Fallow calf

Out in the park this morning and low and behold theres a fallow doe with calf legs hanging out her rear end. She dropped it a wee while later but it wasn't in the best of health. I put it down on welfare grounds and due to time of year. Its the latest fallow ive come across.

Ive had them born in first week of November and survive the winter if doe is in good nick. Born at 1000 ft above sea level.

Could you check its PM3 tooth please and see if it has 3 cusps or 2? I suspect it might have 3 making it less than 2 years old and the result of a fawn being covered in its first year.

Just read that again and the mother is clearly still alive! Any idea of her age?
