    epilepsy in bmh

    just sitting watching tv with best mate and he has just took one bloody scary . looking on web sites and it looks really common just wondering how many people on hear have dogs with the same problem .

    Had a young gsd start having them it changed his personality after about a year and I put him down a very sad day indeed .

    Two immediate thoughts 1. There may be another explanation for what you saw. 2. Many dogs (and humans) live normal lives with epilepsy under control. I'd suggest getting him checked over - it will probably show no abnormalities. If he has another, film it, so the vet can see exactly what is happening. Current thinking is that single isolated fits, even on treatment, are tolerated within normal control.
