You'll probably get better results from the low end of the regular "adult" load range.
I got decent results in my 308 from a starting load of H414 under a Sierra Flat nosed bullet intended for 30-30. It just made deer legal, was accurate and was very gentle to shoot.
You can't say muntjac without saying, Mmmmmm.

OK so what was the idea behind this?

And why give up so easily?

Now you didn't say which make 130 grain bullet you tired either. I find that the 130 grain Hornady shoots very well in a couple of rifles the Sierra 130 & 135 didn't do so well. However none of my loads are light ones so..........................?

The reason was to get my 14 year old shooting the 308 without knocking him off, bullets were hornady and give up so easily as he can shoot the 223 and i have a perfect round for me already with the 150gn BT.
