    Lightbulb ballistics and zeroing

hi there, i have bought a CZ .452 .22 rimfire rifle and have a bushnell scope and a moderator i have been trying to zero it. the clicks on the scope turrets are 1 click = 1/4 inch at 100yds and i was hoping someone would know how many clicks up would i have to do if it was zero'd at 25yds and wanted it zeroing at 100 yds. iam using Eley match 40grain ammo.

    cheers

Oh, oh, Ben. Big row coming up unless you make an introduction. Get to it lad.
    Good hunting.

Impossible to say without knowing a bit more. Where is the point of impact at 40-50 yards?

    Ben , just a guide.
the bullet is going to drop considerably at 100 yards, around 8 inches.
but if you zero at 100 the trajectory will take the bullet up to 4 inches high at 50yards
Best to Zero at 50 or 60 yards.

we need to know what you are shooting at , targets, live quarry, what reticle has the scope.
there`s a lot to learn, remember .22 will ricochet so take care

If you're zero'd at 25 yards then to get the crosshairs correct at 100 you need to turn 32 clicks to counter the 8 inch drop. As badbob has said you're going to be 4 inches high at 50 yards which if you have a mildot reticle is approximately 2 mildots for 50 yards with a 100 yard zero.

Ok well first things first. I'd recommend using a hollow point subsonic over the 'solid' Eley Match.
Not that they won't work but you'll get better energy transfer and still great accuracy with something like Winchester Subsonic 40gr.

Secondly, with the subsonic rounds (like the Eley) a 55-60 yard zero will keep it +/- 0.5" out to 60-65 yards give or take.

Ben, if a couple of folks suggest that you need to make an intro, you probably need to take heed and make an intro...

Ignoring the need won't make it go away, and Admin will leap on you from a great height. It will be you that misses out on getting the help that you so obviously want, so I'd suggest a 4/5 line intro and then you're done.

    Just a thought
