I'd hazard a guess that it is used for testing ammunition.

its for testing 8-gauge or larger. made on a frame so that the user doesn't have to bear the recoil forces. I think they call it a "Masterblaster" and is and as its made by Remington it will be painted green.

As the answer is now posted here here's some more info.

Could you mount this on a punt? Or two? In side by side mounts? Potentially six ounces and being side by side a spread that is lateral like a figure "8" on its side.

Or would it, seriously, after initial outlay, be cost effective for use on decoyed pigeons? In that its three ounces and large shot, say BB, would kill more pigeon on the ground than three shots as they come in to land from a regular 12 bore with 6s or 7s?

As is suppressed it doesn't seem to make much noise either.

First video does go black halfway through but at least you see how the thing loads. Now would it be practical on a punt with three ounce (maybe that should be "ouch"!) of steel BB?

My old company used it for knocking off slag on the gear exchangers at the smelter.
