    Steel highseat tube diameter

So I have decided to design the new must have accessory that every stalker will require on his highseat and make me millions.
so. My question is, what diameter box section is used in the arm rail I'm guessing 25mm.
I can speak in-depth and with great knowledge about most subjects until some bugger who actually knows what he is speaking about opens his gob .

25mm will be fine just make sure you get good padding on it to stop scratches on your rifle
    Cheers

I have made a few seats, all have a round front rail which is 25dia 1.5mm wall thickness.

With box you have a greater range of wall thickness, 1.5 to 3.0 mm also easier to mitre the box, my tube was rolled for a job so I just use up my left over stock.

Stalking is very much like going to the night club

You can always tell an Essex Boy, just you cant tell him much...

An hour in the field is worth a week of typing trash.....

Cheers for the answers. I'm not talking about the rifle rail. Just the bit you put your elbow on when your sitting comfortably. The arms of a chair, in other words.

I would term that as the seat frame!!

25x25x2mm box...however I use 2.5... Any legs need to be 2.5 in my opinion.

My last single high seat has one piece legs with a 10mm dia rod brace, others I have sat in use joints so the can be packaged simply but the more joints the greater wobble.!!
90" to the base of the seat frame, 20/22 deg leg angle is quite ok.

i will do that when I get a minute. I have made seats out of 20mm box by welding two pieces of box together to strengthen the first ten feet of the upright. I haven't made any for a few years but some of the originals still account for deer after 25 plus years.
