    Looking for a .30-06

Any advice on a good stalking/target rifle in .30-06?

I have a .223 tikka t3 super varmint great rifle, so thinking either another or a sako 85.

Anybody recommend any other accurate factory rifles or within the 2000 custom Rifle?

Why not stay with T3? A .223 Rem in the same rifle is a great combo.

I won a T3 Lite SS some years ago in drawing. It if had been .270 Win, I would have kept it, but it was .30-06 and I have a bunch of those. It shoots fabulously. Not fussy about any ammo from 130-gr TSX to 180-gr BTSPs. I sold it to a friend and he fills his tags on elk and deer with it, wearing the Burris FFII 3-9x40 Ballistic Plex I mounted on it. It shoots everything into way under 1 inch groups. And the recoil, to me, was less than many heavier .308s I have shot - I did not notice it at all.

Oh, yeah... I took the money and bought a T3 Lite 7mm-08, another great shooter, so I am thinking of a T3 Lite in .223 as its little companion.

My son shoots one of these, Mauser M12 in 30-06. It's light, very accurate and great to shoot.

Southern - as we only get one slot per caliber in the UK (night vision is a reason for 2) I wanted to try something new if it offers better accuracy and quality and have a bit of variation in the cabinet

Well, go retro, to a Winchester Model 70, FN Mauser, or a Sako L61R, or AIII or something of that sort, with walnut, iron sights, and the whole bit.

If it is a deer or/and boar rifle, don't obsess about sub-MOA accuracy. Most ammunition is better today, and most rifles, even old ones, shoot very well with enough loads.
