    5.56 vs. .223

    Ok, what on earth is the difference? As far as I can tell, the chamber throat in the 5.56 is a little longer than the .223. Is that all there is to it? I'm sure somebody on here has a solid answer. Merry Christmas.

    No that's it,

    Mass produced military rd, much lighter than 7.62 big mistake from military point of view,

    here's a better question... in you take a 5.56, fl size in .223 dies and trim to .223 length what is it now

    Still a 5.56? They have the same case length.
