    reduced 243 loads.

Got the need for a little less firepower for a few foxes and as the 243 is my smallest centrefire any one have any reloading experience in reduced 243 loads using 55 grain bts how slow can they go and still have expansion was thinking of around 2000 fps.

I would not try to make reduced 243 loads , even when loaded normal ( full case ) it is a calibre that is more prone to blowing up from secondary explosion , than most other calinbres

What a load of utter horse puckey, care to back that up with citations of evidence? No 'I read it on the internet' crapola.
BTW you might want to read up on SEE as you do not understand it.

Reduced loads are quite 'fun' in the 243, the only caveat being that some loads require that you pay attention when assembling - ex pistol reloaders will understand this.

A young man who isn't a socialist hasn't got a heart; an old man who is a socialist hasn't got a head.

I have a nice cast boolit mould for my .243 - goes well with a light load of pistol powder. Get all the copper out of your barrel if you go the route of cast boolits.

HI Ruby, why bother, at 2000fps your still double supersonic speed , so it wont be much quieter even with a mod, and 2000fps is still going to go a long way without a good backdrop, so I cant see how its safer, its a fox, use a 90gn balistic tip at 3200fps and make a right mess of the damn thing...........you havent got to eat it! Only joking, but really why bother?
