TV FAC renewal not back after 6 months

    Hi all
I put my FAC in for renewal nearly 6 months ago as requested by
    letter from Thames Valley
I rang them today as I haven't had it back and only have 2 weeks
    left on my cert
They told me it is in the system and is being processed BUT won't be done
In time for my renewal date even though they have had it for nearly 6 months
They have said they will be sending me out a temporary certificate
Carnt wait to move to County Durham were these issues are non existent
I've always known TV were slow but this is ridiculous

That is very worrying state of affairs. I thought they may have got their act together by now.

Dont forget you will need to lodge all your expanding ammo with a RFD as you cant keep it on your temporary certificate

Or another FAC holder who is authorised to possess that cartridge and quantity.

Or the simple solution of not having any as " it's all been used".

When I rang them they told me to stock up on ammo before my cert ran out
not aware of having to lodge my expanding ammo with an RFD tho

I suggest you speak to them then as you cant legally hold expanding ammo on antempoary certificate

You should read the following post (#55) which is a written reply from TVP confirming that you cannot hold expanding ammunition on a temporary certificate.

I would also suggest that you then take the time to then read the whole thread.

Perhaps TVP and their protracted processes should be a target for BASC who hailed the recent cost increases asa success for them not having gone up more - its just the service that has continued to be appalling according to info on here from some time back. You begin to wonder - 'whats the point' and that is the point.

    Hi all
I spoke to TV again today and asked them to clarify if I needed
to store my expanding ammo with an RFD as my FAC will expire soon and will only have a temporary
cert (as there sending me out one)
They said I didn't need to do that as my temporary cert will have the same allowances as my original
fac certificate IE what I can hold and how many
still not 100% confident in there answer as you chaps have told me otherwise
but will go with what they have said
