Two Firsts, Two Golds.

I've been stalking for a while and have shot roe, muntjac, fallow, sika and red deer, but I'd never even seen a Chinese Water Deer; nor had my brother, who mentored me when I got my first rifle.
To cut a long story short, I decided it was time we completed the 6, so booked a day with muntjacstalker yesterday. Jason is a very competent stalker and knows his ground well. We saw plenty of deer, including a very good buck, before I shot mine on the the morning stalk. My brother took the lead with Jason in the afternoon as we stalked in a withy plantation, and I followed behind. It wasn't long before I saw my brother drop to the ground and after a good 10 minutes he shot his buck as soon as it turned broadside. Both bucks measured as golds, which was a great finish to a memorable day...I couldn't recommend Jason highly enough.

Thanks, it was a great experience and I'm going to have a skull mount done to hang next to the other five species.
