Thread: Bullet Pouch

    Bullet Pouch

Maybe im growing up, or something. But I am starting to dislike the Cheek bag thats on my rifle at the moment, it just pickes up larch needles when going through thick cover, and looks a bit foolish.

So now Im looking for a bullet pouch/holder/wallet. It must hold ten rounds, be silent, as weatherproof as possible, very durable and secure. Oh and definatley not black leather, I simply hate it.

At the moment Im thinking http://www.bds.org.uk/product560.html, but I might be swayed

    Any ideas chaps?

Sam, Ash has said that he uses vegetable tanned leather, not the chemically tanned stuff you get commercailly. Beware of the Chem leather, it turns your ammo a funny colour.

    Sam,

Sorry I don't have any better photos right now and this was taken for another reason but that'san RWS leatehr pouch which I have been using now for some years:-

Right at the bottom of the Photo middle way across and it's open

Without getting it out and taking more photos those are all I have of it. It fits on the belt if you want or pops into a pocket.

I was a bit puzzled there for a moment, but I see you actually mean a stalkers' ammunition or cartridge pouch!

Mine is a folding leather one, with leather pockets, rather than elastic, for the rounds; and was made by a US firm called Galco.
    http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterP3.asp...1&CatalogID=12
One US firm refused to ship it the UK because of the Federal ban on of the export of tactical items. They said they would ship to my sister's address in Brooklyn, but only if she and I both signed in triplicate an undertaking not to export the item to the UK.
Needless to say, I found another firm with a less catholic view of the term 'tactical'!

It is far from silent, being held closed by press-studs. However, even though my rifles are moderated, the press-studs are quieter, and I usually open the case shortly after firing. I'm not sure whether veg tanned or otherwise, but I wouldn't store rounds in it anyway.

The smartest ones I've seen are these http://www.titanium-gunworks.de/patr...uis/index.html which would indeed be silent, having a capstan fastening. The English version of the website is incomplete and doesn't show the 10-round folding model. Not cheap.

I bought a FAC/SGC wallet from this ELK bloke, who also makes a cartridge wallet (notwithstanding what he thinks it should be called)

If you think that's ridiculous, have a gander at this: http://www.exportlawblog.com/archives/1850

The big problem on exports from the US is that there is no list of prohibited products, only prohibited classes of products. This means everyone is conservative (with a small 'c') in case they export something that the enforcement agencies subsequently decide is prohibited.

    Bullet wallet

SAM i use three different wallets as it stops me taking the wrong ammo for the rifle in a rush.
Garlands green neoprene from bushwear holding 14 rounds at 8.50
Cammo allen wallet also holding 14 from bushwear at 7.99
RWS wallet from my local gun shop holding 10 rounds for about 20.00

All three seem to do the job fine but i recently saw a wallet made by ash243 and the looks and build quility was superb and i have no hesitation recommending one of his .
