Firstly I fully understand what works in one may not work in another.
I have two 308 rifles, one 20" and one 24", so at best one load will be a big compromise in terms of MV.
I have Viht N140 and 168 gr Amax bullets with which to load, and would appreciate the personal experiences of this combination.
Cheers

42gr works nicely, I've used it in both 20" and 24" barrels and found it very accurate, I think you'll find there's not as much difference in MV as you may think.

not Amax but 168gr SMK was the most accurate load I have ever produced
43gr dead of N140 in Norma brass
mine was a 29" barrel though

damn things still shooting straight, although I believe Boydy has moved to more manly 155 SMK's :p

I run a load very close to this in a 22" Howa.
Very accurate when I do my bit.

Well, gave it a go, chrono'd around 2450fps thru a 24" standard Tikka M595 barrel. Plenty accurate, but will continue to refine it. Thanks for that !
