    Magpies wanted

    Bit off subject I know, I have a few Larsen traps on the go and I'm struggling to catch any this year, anyone got a couple? Ipswich, Woodbridge, Felixstowe area, can collect.

    Too early for callbirds to be left out all night at the moment. Try raw tripe as bait, it worked for me first day last year.

    Think it's better to have a call bird out early than wait for nesting birds to suffer, it's going to be an early season down this way. I don't like catching when they have their own young either.

    Bewsher - if you get one in the next couple of days let me know and I can pop round for it in the evenings to pick it up before it gets dispatched.

    it was a bit tongue in cheek as these were dispatched in the tree tops!
    Not even CPR would help them

    don't discount using a dead one as a call bird
    brought many a first live call bird in with a dead one.

    Just think how many 2nd and 3rd magpies get shot when the are too nosey as to where their friend just dropped off to!

    reason I shot 4 in the last two days is the first one was left out
