Once heard a comment from someone within, "We don't have a duck officer, why do we need a deer officer", same applies here, .. lots of membership quids going astray, this org is going the same way as the NHS.

Fair comment but they haven't come up with DSC1 duck shooting course 1 which the police say you require to get a shotgun cert yet as another money spinner

With so many trainers and courses being provided we need more bodies to help and assist them all - simple as. We don't want to let standards slip as we have a reputation to maintain and improve upon.

Any queries please contact me direct

How many BSAC staff would you say are involved in deer related courses compared to wildfowling courses...

Not after an exact figure but a rough figure would start the ball rolling....(please don't pm me the answer as you have done in the past)

Stalking is very much like going to the night club

You can always tell an Essex Boy, just you cant tell him much...

An hour in the field is worth a week of typing trash.....

Most of the wildfowling training is devolved completely to club level as every club has its own unique set of circumstances, tides and hazards. BASC has one dedicated Wildfowling Officer, one dedicated Deer Officer and one dedicated training and development officer (responsible for all forms of training). There are of course other roles which overlap and are involved in other aspects of training, such as staff involved in gamekeeping, gundogs and gameshooting etc..

No real answer to this question, but we do provide far more direct training opportunities for deer, firearms, shotgun and pigeon shooting related training.

We will point prospective wildfowlers directly to the clubs, but we are generally unable to do this with some arms of the sport.

Full time lobbying (for common sense licensing) officer camped out on their doorstep would be a good one.
