Parker Hale or pierce style jag

Which type of jag do you use for cleaning your rifles?
Which is best and why?
Also, do you use the right calibre jag or smaller eg 22 for @243?

Using the right size helps as with the right size patch you only need one patch to make a nice tight fit to effectively clean the bore. If you use a smaller jag then you'll need more patches to keep a snug fit or you won't get a good enough clean. At least this is what I've found with the (apologise for layman's terms) the pointy style jags instead of the ones with the slot.

spear tip jag and multiple patch sizes for appropriate calibre

don't like the roll style patches as they rarely get into the grooves properly without a great deal more pressure and faff matching patch size to bore

I've got both types. Don,t see me useing the PH rod and jag again. Tipton rod and jag work perfect

I use both also. I actually like using the PH jag and a nice tight patch, its just a matter of working out the exact size of 4x2 to cut off for each caliber. I keep samples of the size patch I need pinned to a notice board above my cleaning bench.
