New 30 calibre 110, 125 and 185 GR GMX bullets from Hornady

Any body noticed that Hornady are now listing these other lighter GMX Bullets?

I emailed them back in 2014 to see if they were going to make one lighter than the 150 GR, and they said:-

    Alan,

Unfortunately, we do not have any plans for a lighter GMX bullet in .308.

    Thank you,

I would imagine these are as a result of the 300aac but should work well in 308 etc.
excellent news just need some field reports

I see these bullets have canelures (looks like one or two) -- I wonder how they will compare with Barnes TSX / TTSX for bore fouling (or the lack of it) & price here in the UK.
Hopefully the competition might start to bring the rediculously high prices we now pay down. (WISHFULL THINKING!)

might try 110gr's.... the 150's were useless at the velocity you could drive them out of 308

I couldn't find any load data for them on the Hornady site. Will try an email.

On the few that I have used on animals there was no problem, but then my ranges were very close. That was with Factory 150 GR SuperPerformance.

Home loads were between 2600 and 2740. That was on my old rifle which had an 18.5" barrel, haven't tried them in the new 22" yet.

I have just heard back from Reloading Solutions...

Although Hornady have announced them as new products for 2016 we do not currently have a delivery date for them. however, we do hope to stock them when they become available.

    Thanks
    Aftab

Just heard back from Hornady Tech. Alan....

Unfortunately, we do not have any data developed for these new projectiles just yet. We are in the process of developing loads for a future edition of our reloading manual, however I would anticipate that manual to be about a year out.

I would recommend using the starting loads for the 110gr V-Max for the 110gr GMX and the starting load for the 130gr SP for the 125gr GMX. So long as you use the starting load and work up you’ll be good to go. Thanks again!
