They,re all at it ,the trough is deep and the snout is long.As a certain scots gent called The Big Yin said anybody who publicly states they want to be a politician should be banned from public office for life.M.P,s can claim for a research assistant 20k a year ,attending Westminster<paid to turn up and a wage>2nd home money,T.V ,food ,travel it beggars belief that they turn 68k into a claim of upto 125 k a year just adding expense,s .I get paid a wage for the job i do ,so why can an M.P claim so much for the job they do.You want to be an MP its your choice so no more expenses claims ,the country would save millions straight away.Whilst im ranting why do we need 650 leeches ,America only has 300 people running a country of 300 million ???

Ah, but 'we' can 'afford' ours...
Perhaps it's the real reason why Sturgeon needs a 50p tax rate!

If they were paid a higher fair rate for there job they wouldn't need expenses but no one wanted them to get a payrise the other year so won't agree with me, after tax and national gone I don't think 68 is a good basic for their job

“The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”

"The problem with Conservatism is you think all the money should be yours, or your friends' "

No longer public service its now self service.

After the last expenses scandal I decided ALL politicians were definitely criminals. Those who fiddled were allowed to pay it back, would a robber or you or I get away with that,NO we would be locked away even if we gave it back.
My decision was made on the basis that the fiddlers were criminals and all the others were guilty of being accessories both before and after the fact. Therefore the whole gang should have been prosecuted and put away.
    My case rests.

Really? If politicians weren't liars, thieves and cheats, us, the public might think differently of them. They barely deserve their current income. Very few politicians today ever come from paid work in the real world. Most are ex-uni where they studied and graduated to become 'career' politicians. They know where the gravy train is long before they stick their noses in it, having learned how to feed the rest of us their bu$hit.

Do you think that says more about us that we only vote for liars thrives and cheats. If the pay was more inline with private sector might we attract a more trust worthy type of person?
