First chance with the new camera to grab some photos of the roe

Having changed camera bodies I've been hoping to get a chance to take some shots of the roe but really didn't see anything over the weekend.

My luck changed this morning, however, and I managed to grab a few shots of the pregnant roe doe, quickly followed by one of last year's doe kids which made her way through the cover crop towards me.

The photos were taken between 06:45 (the pregnant doe) and 06:55 (the doe kid), so the light was pretty poor. Given the circumstances I don't think the photos turned out too badly.

To be fair, with a subject matter like roe they always look good.

Still using the same 300mm f4, but moving to full-frame it somehow seems to make the subject really "pop out". I must remember to pop the Tele-converter on.

Looking forward to the time when I finally manage to catch up with them in full sunlight, and then one of these days I might even get to stalk them without having to drag the four dogs along as well - now that will be interesting
