    Roe skull weight?

If a dry roe skull weighs 449g and deducting the 90g = 359g is it still worth getting measured?

no expert but I think the weight should be 365 grams - BUT it may scrape a bronze. I'm sure there will be far more knowledgeable in the subject to confirm this later!!!

I had a head measured last year i shot locally in 2014, it was 482 grams gross then 392 grams - the 90 grams, it made a bronze if that helps. It scored 109 cic.

at that weight its pretty borderline, beauty points, height and span could make or break you. There is to many variables to say yes or no really. I had a bronze that weighed 365 after the 90 was taken off and it scored 108 but I also had one at 420 after the 90 was taken of and it only scored 103. The good thing is if it doesn't make a medal you don't get charged any money so no harm in putting it in to see

    As a guide

    Uncut skull

    bronze - 365g
    silver - 420g
    gold - 480g

    cut

    bronze - 455
    silver - 510
    gold - 570

Beams want to be up between 20 - 30cm (total length)

70% of the overall score is weight (dry) and volume (dipped in water/ dry weight minus weight when submerged in water up to edge of coronet)

    Hope that helps

    Carl.

If span and beauty points are good then its well achievable if the volume is there.
Ive had a head of gross 420g,net was either 390 or 400g and it made 117 points so every head is on merit with no hard and fast rules.
