Must be me too then - new barrel and bedding on an older Sako with a 175 mod doesn't equate good value at 1350.

    Good luck.

Not that im going to get drawn into a Pi**ing contest but second hand standard Tikkas are going for up to 675, this isnt standard by any means. If you dont like it...dont buy it.

To put it in perspective, 2nd hand Sako 75s are going for up to a 1000, new 85s are 1300 + if I had the chance of a Tikka 595 the Sako 85 wouldnt get a second look.

Sod it..telly's rubbish and i'm waiting for my dinner.........OK

Point is Choc then i questioned the price of an old rifle that by your description benefitted from a new barrel (yet is supposedly relatively unused), been bedded with the original stock and then you put one of your moderators on. Rather than take the oppertunity to list all the work you may have done to merit the inflated price ('an action that has seen little or no work'), you instead resorted to dismissive & snotty responces.

Essentially my confusion comes from the fact that i can buy an similar spec'd but new Sako 85 for slightly less, or:

    http://www.guntrader.co.uk/GunsForSale/100531160837643 with Zeiss Diatal-Z 6X42 T scope for 845

    http://www.guntrader.co.uk/GunsForSale/100114201429916 for 900

    http://www.guntrader.co.uk/GunsForSale/100605154607474 for 525

    http://www.guntrader.co.uk/GunsForSale/100331173701000 for 495

    http://www.guntrader.co.uk/GunsForSale/090731172213005 for 595

    http://www.guntrader.co.uk/GunsForSale/091022113717000 for 695

Incidentally, i've bought from Jager Sports on 2 occassions when i lived in essex so no axe to grind here. Also, it's steak, chips, peas and sweetcorn tonight...yum.

Almost forgot.............i like the first deal with the Zeiss scope !

FYI The barrel is unsued, its brand new and on its way to proof, essentially the rifle is new, the work thats gone ito the rifle is reflected in the price not like the links you have posted.

Like I said...you dont like it dont buy it, but thanks for high jacking the sale.

Hmmm, lets see, i'll take the deal complete with Zeiss Diatal 6x42 scope, send it to borders barrels for one of their own (not that i would have needed to with a rifle so unused as yours ), screw cut and proofed.......comes in about the same price and i still have a Zeiss scope, mount and rings.

Aw well, at least the steak was lovely and Tesco's cherryliscious ice cream is lovely to.

    Right...off to walk the dogs

By my calculations your little project will cost around 1500 plus carriage, the Border barrel will be in excess of 700 fitted...but at least you get the Zeiss 6x42...

Like I said, you dont like it dont buy it...dont tell me you use a Sauer for your armchair stalking.

Again thank you for trying to trash my sale...but you dont have an axe to grind...do you!
